"I wish to register a complaint!"
There are many ways you can contact me, Pace Arko, and some keys ways you can't.
I won't list my hardmail address, phone number or facsimile number anywhere on my site because I work from home and value my privacy. E-mail me if you want these things. If I ever get a post office box or a separate business number, I'll list them here.
I don't have a mobile phone. The only thing that stands in the way of laptops and tablets fully emulating mobile phones is a fictional business model. I simply don't travel enough to warrant buying a dumb terminal like a mobile phone. If I must haul around a box, it must be a thick client! Maybe one day, I'll get a mobile phone card, if such things exist, for my laptop so it can act like a mobile phone.
I realize that some people still don't do e-mail or read the Web. For them I finally got a facsimile printer. And of course my voice mail can be checked remotely.
Using GAIM, I'm on IRC and the major instant messaging services but, because my privacy is precious, I give out my handles carefully. Mail me if you want to use this channel.
I have the bandwidth for a camera server and teleconferencing but, I've only found utility for it once. A couple of years ago, I had a player remotely sit in on one of my game sessions. If such needs arise again, I have the infrastructure.
How my comments form works
Sometimes I allow comments to be made on pages I publish here at the mighty, mighty Farlops Industries. The comments form is pretty simple--I hope--and you can just start using it without giving it much thought. If you do anything wrong, the comments form will tell you what needs to be fixed after you attempt to submit your comment and it will give you a chance to correct things and try submission again.
But there is some interesting functionality behind the form, that some of
you might find interesting. For example, my form accepts a limited set of
hypertext markup. Specifically it accepts the following tags and attributes:
a, abbr, acronym, blockquote,
br, code, cite, dd, dfn, dl, dt, em, href, kbd, li, ol, p, pre, q, samp, strong,
title, ul, var.
These allow you to semantically mark the content of your comment if you wish. It
also runs your comment through a tidying function so your added markup will be
valid. Notice I don't include markup tags like b, i, s or u.
Sorry but, these are deprecated in XHTML1
strict, which is the document type defined for any page on this site.
If you don't know what any of the proceeding means, don't worry. Just start using the form. All line breaks and paragraph spacing will be preserved and converted into the correct markup and naked URLs will also be converted into links automatically.
There is something else to be aware of. I only require that you fill in the comment area when submitting a comment. Names, e-mail addresses and websites can be nonexistent or faked and your comment can be essentially anonymous. However you must be aware that I review all comments and trackbacks before allowing them to be posted to my page and I record the IP addresses of all who use my site. If you're wasting everyone's time with spam and pointless rudeness, none of your comments will be posted and the form will eventually stop working for you at all. If you are a scam artist, you won't find yourself very welcome here.
Comments from total strangers who refuse to identify themselves may take some time to appear on my site. The form will warn you about this delay. Please be patient. Those who do identify themselves with OpenID, TypeKey or by being on my e-mail address whitelist will find their comments and trackbacks appearing immediately.
Also your e-mail address will never appear anywhere on this site. Your address is only for my personal records and personal correspondance.
