Image Descriptions

A high quality image of the cover of "The Revolt of the Pedestrians"

Above is a photograph of the cover of  The Revolt of the Pedestrians, a science fiction novel by David H. Keller, M.D. It depicts a man, the very model of health and strength, striding confidently through the streets of a vast futuristic city. At the feet of this pedestrian are the sprawled and helplessly wriggling bodies of many former automobile drivers, their forms dwarfed and atrophied by generations of dependence on motor vehicles. My kinda future! Apparently Heller wrote this as a cautionary tale in the early nineteen-thirties. The cover was illustrated by R. J. Paul, a popular artist in the genre of science fiction from the nineteen-twenties to the nineteen-forties.
